We look forward to sharing your content with the world! Please note that by submitting content to MTD, you grant Michael Tobias Design LLC the right to reproduce and/or redistribute any and all content submitted.

For a smooth publishing process, we ask that you follow our content guidelines listed below.

SUbmission guidelines

Photographs

All photographs should be at least 1MB in size, without any logos (including any MTD branding), copy, or Photographer’s watermarks. Images containing any of the above, run the risk of being cropped, when we post the image. If you cannot remove copy/watermarking on an existing image we prefer that you instead, submit a self-taken photograph, without any branding.

Video

All Video content must be in a format playable by any browser and available for us to upload directly to our video sharing service. This streamlines the submission process and ensures that our users/ viewers are not subjected to third-party advertisements, while allowing MTD to keep content up-to-date and available.

HOW TO SUBMIT CONTENT

We prefer to use DropBox for accepting videos, but will also accept videos from other sharing services, provided that they meet the following criteria:

  1. Videos are submitted in one compressed folder, with all content (accompanying photographs, copy, etc.) included.

  2. All content is named with your firstname-lastname-bassmodel-imagesequence.extension (eg michael-tobias-535-24-1.jpg

  3. All content is accessible to download without the need for authentication or log-in credentials.

  4. Content does not require additional conversion (i.e. all content should be playable in any browser).

  5. Please note that if you plan submit multiple videos for one instrument, please combine them into one video. We like to make each news posting as comprehensive as possible. Submitting many videos to be published in one news posting leads to a long page of sequential videos, which doesn’t fit the “digest” posting style to which our users have grown accustomed.

  6. Please consider playing immediately in your video, adding speaking parts towards the middle of the video. While our viewers want know about your bass, it is your unique sound and playing style that will drive it home for viewers and players alike. Play some music, reel them in, and share what makes you tick. We will of course post any copy you provide for use, below the video (which can be read alongside video playback). Remember, this post is about you as a player, not a promoter — have fun with it!

If you do not have a preferred sharing service, please notify us at the time of submission and we will grant you access to a shared DropBox folder. Please do not send content via email attachments, as they are not always received, due to mailbox size limitations.
