MTD Initial Set Up

Optimal set up is individual but generally but we generally use the lowest string as a straight edge, holding it down at the 1st and 16th fret and adjusting the truss rod until there is about .010- .015 space between the top of the 8th fret and the bottom of the string.

Next adjust the high string so that it is 1/16 (2/32, 1.5mm) from the top of the last fret. Check for buzzing…if that is good then adjust the rest of the strings following the curvature of the board and moving them up slightly until the low B which is a 3/32 or about 2.5 mm. The rest depends on your technique and attack

Pick up heights are generally set by holding down the outside strings at the 24th fret and raising or lowering the bridge pick up to about 3/16 under the strings, top parallel to the strings when loose. Next use the blend pot to raise or lower the neck pick up to match the output.

Buzz Feiten Tuning System Instructions

Mike uses a Peterson VS-II or a regular strobe. The Korg DT7 has the offsets burned into the chip for intonation. The Planet Waves Tru Strobe Tuner has BFTS offsets pre-installed. If you have a tuner that will adjust 1 cent up or down you can do the following:

When Mike strings a bass with new strings, he usually stretches them for a bit before doing BFTS intonation….. Play for about ½ hour or put them on and leave them overnight. Make sure the neck is set like you want and that the action is also. Tune the bass to pitch using the tuner.

Match the

F string open at pitch against the F at the 12th fret 1 cent flat

C string open at pitch against the C at the 12th fret 1 cent flat

G string open at pitch against the G at the 12th fret 1 cent flat

D string open at pitch against the D at the 12th fret 1 cent flat

A string open at pitch against the A at the 12th fret 1 cent sharp

E string open at pitch against the B at the 7th fret 1 cent sharp

B string open at pitch against the F# at the 7th fret 1 cent sharp

If the note is sharp, that means the saddle is too close to the 12th fret, if it is flat then it is too far away.

Joshua Mikhail Jaiman was born on August 30 1990, is a Hebrew/Puerto Rican bass guitar player from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Joshua started playing the bass at the age of 15 and around that same time he started attending Kingdom Life Christian Church in Milford,CT. Joshua started attending the youth ministry, “IMPACT!” Shortly thereafter was asked to participate in the Youth Praise and Worship team. Although he had just started playing the bass, he quickly started picking up the basics and not long after he was playing right along with the other musicians. During this time Joshua started feeling the Lord pressing him and was Saved and Water Baptized. As he played he felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit and quickly discovered that God wanted him to continue in the music ministry. During his time at Kingdom Life, Joshua served on the youth ministry and in the Spanish music ministry. He played at the church sponsored Summer Camp , receiving the Leadership Award in 2008 for his influence in the music and youth ministry.

Joshua has also played with the Central High School Gospel Choir in Bridgeport, Ct under the leadership of Sheena Graham. It also started a “breakthrough” in Joshua’s playing and the development of his musical style. He started combining aspects of Spanish Gospel, Contemporary Gospel and Contemporary Christian music into his repertoire.

In 2009, Joshua traveled with the Central High School Gospel Choir to Virginia beach, for choir competition “Fiesta-val” Joshua received a trophy and a medal for Best Musical Accompaniment. The event had school choirs from across the country and had in participation more than 3000 students. Prior to “Fiesta-Val, the school played various venues and churches. It was during this time that he met Apostle Kelvin Newton, Pastor of the Greater Works Deliverance International Ministries INC. of Bridgeport, CT. Joshua felt God calling him to this Church and found it was time to move on. Joshua’s playing was further anointed by this move and the various venues that he has played as part of the Music Ministry “Another Dimension ©” at Greater works , with our first CD release, Praise and Worship: In the Kingdom.

Joshua currently is on tour with Intl. Gospel recording artist Eddie James( Capitol/EMI) & has also played for Mitchell Jean and A.L.P. (Another Level of Praise) , Sony Recording Artist Daniel Smart ,Recording Artist Joann Rosario, Tammy Harrison & New sound , Denise Powell, Ty Mckoy of youthful praise and leader of the cathedral of praise youth choir(but has recently gone home to be with the Lord) David Mclure of youthful praise, B.A.S.I.C ( Brothers and Sisters in Christ) Terrell Brown & Divine Purpose , Recording Artist Pastor Chris Edwards , Beatrice Somerville from “cathedral of praise”, Bishop J.C. White , and Martha munizzi .

Joshua in 2011 was invited by various companies to perform at their booth at the winter NAMM show “turn it up to 11″ , where he had the chance to perform with many well known artist .

Joshua currently endorses Genz-Benz enclosures/amplification , MTD basses, Reunion Blues guitar cases, Labella strings,Avalon design,Namba Gear musicians bags, Italia leather straps, Live wires In ear monitors, And Analysis Plus cables . Joshua started out with a beginner Washburn © Bass then he moved on to a Fender © Jazz Bass and then to a six string ESP LTD © Custom Bass and now plays a custom MTD 635-24 . Joshua Mikhail Jaiman lives by the verse in Psalm 144:1 “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle” as the inspiration for his music and life. And also 2 chronicles 5:12-14 .

In 2002, MTD Artist Pete Bremy fulfilled a dream that he thought would never happen. Bassist Tim Bogert became ill the day prior to the start of a short tour with Vanilla Fudge. Vince Martell recommended Pete as a fill in, and in a heartbeat he was off to Asbury Park, New Jersey for the first show of the tour at the famous Stone Pony. Pete has continued to tour with Vanilla Fudge through August of 2002, winding up with a tour of Sweden and Denmark.

In May, 2008, Pete was asked once again by bassist Tim Bogert to sub for him due to an illness. This time with Cactus. Then in August, 2008, Pete shared the stage with Vanilla Fudge’s Mark Stein and Vince Martell.

Pete is pictured playing an MTD American 635-24 and 2012 marks yet another year Pete will be on tour with Cactus.
